Friday Wilson is a Ugandan Scholar, pursuing Master of Science Program in Agricultural Economics at Faculty of Agronomy and Forestry Engineering, Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique), supported by Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme of the European Union through Train Agribusiness and Food system Scientists for Agriculture (TAFSA) Project. He holds Bachelor of Agribusiness Management, Second class Honor’-Upper Division from Makerere University (Uganda). Mr. Friday has over two year's working experience in research consultancy and social Projects with a number of staff members at College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Makerere University (Uganda) and Equity Bank Limited (Uganda) respectively. He is interested in knowledge generation for Agribusiness management, application of Agricultural Economics through research and innovation for community transformation in Uganda and Africa at large. He was born in Kyenjojo District (Fort Portal), third born child in the family and the first to attain higher University education.
About the TAFSA Project
The Mobility to Train Agribusiness and Food Systems Scientists for African Agriculture (TAFSA) is designed to re-direct human capacity development efforts in the agricultural sector in Africa to address three key challenges that agricultural development in Africa should provide solutions to. These are, graduate employment, wealth creation (poverty reduction) and food and nutrition security improvement. Previous projects/collaborations in the agricultural domain focused largely on deep science, with limited emphasis on the fate of the students upon graduation, their transition into the next professional life, and the contribution of the graduate to the current social dilemma of the society including lack of employment, poverty and food and nutrition insecurity..
